Hi, I’m Fred.
Ink into gold, refined with care.
Born near Antwerp, Belgium, and based in Melbourne, Australia for nearly two decades (with a brief Parisian interlude), I bring a multilingual, European sensibility to my proofreading and editorial work. I’m fluent in Flemish/Dutch and English, speak French, and have studied Italian and German. Earlier in my career, I was registered with NAATI as a translator.
Clear, confident writing makes a difference — whether you’re publishing, promoting, or presenting your work. Today, I’m building an independent editorial practice dedicated to helping writers and businesses produce work that reads clearly, reflects professionalism, and inspires confidence. Through thoughtful proofreading and copyediting, I refine language in a way that sharpens meaning, strengthens voice, and preserves intent.
After years in customer service and logistics, I made a deliberate shift to launch The Lux Lexicon: a boutique, founder-led studio grounded in precision, clarity, and consistency. That background shapes a calm, structured approach — with a strong focus on deadlines, responsiveness, and follow-through. Your work — and your timeline — are treated with care and precision.
My training includes the Proofread Anywhere General Proofreading course, the Australian Online Courses Certificate of Editing and Proofreading, and Wesleyan University’s Creative Writing program (via Coursera) — a foundation that balances technical accuracy with narrative sensitivity.
Outside of work, you’ll usually find me reading (grimdark, history, biography, and the occasional general fiction), exploring research rabbit holes, playing guitar, or keeping active — balance matters.
If you’re looking for a careful, considered editorial eye, I’d be glad to help.
Ink → Gold. Together.
Every piece begins unfinished.
It simply needs refinement.
